Orlando Bass Adventures

Orlando Bass Adventures is Steve Boyd’s guide operation, based in Orlando and fishing the St. Johns River north of the theme park corridor. Boyd is a Florida native and a full time guide, and the river is what he points anglers toward when they want moving water instead of a lake. On the St. Johns the service targets trophy largemouth, hybrid stripers and the American shad run, treating the river as a comparatively lightly pressured alternative to the well known central Florida lakes. Trips run from a 2016 Blazer 625 Pro Elite bass boat and are priced by hour and bait choice: four hours at 285 dollars on artificials or 345 dollars on live bait, six hours at 335 or 410 dollars, and eight hours at 400 or 500 dollars, each covering two anglers with 50 dollars for a third. Rods, reels, terminal tackle and lures are supplied, live bait trips include three to five dozen shiners running four to twelve inches, and ice and drinks are aboard in summer.
