Over the River Guide Service

Over the River Guide Service runs drift boat trips on the McKenzie River from Eugene, Oregon, fishing both the upper and lower stretches of the river. Half-day and full-day trips are offered, and days are shaped around dry fly work and nymphing depending on conditions and the angler’s experience. Native trout, rainbows among them, are the fish. Trips come with what the operation calls top-tier gear and hand-tied flies, and instruction is given one on one and matched to skill level. John Over rows the boat himself, having fished the McKenzie his whole life, and works under Oregon State Marine Board certification.
