Royal Gorge Anglers

Royal Gorge Anglers works the Arkansas River from Canon City, Colorado, covering both the freestone river and tailwater water, and it is the only Orvis Endorsed Outfitter on that river. Days are booked as wade trips or as float fishing, and the same operation adds South Platte trips on the tailwater to the north, backcountry outings on small water, and lake days on Spinney and Antero reservoirs. Instructional trips form a separate category, as do tenkara days and conventional spin fishing trips for anglers who do not throw a fly line. Private ranch venues are part of the mix, and the Gunnison River is guided as well. The shop frames its guiding around teaching, aiming trips at every level of experience rather than at experts alone. River reports are published on the site and kept current so anglers can see what the water is doing before they book.
