The Lodge at Palisades Creek
Irwin, Idaho · Fishes South Fork Snake River
The Lodge at Palisades Creek fishes all sixty-six miles of the South Fork of the Snake River, from Palisades Dam down to the Menan Buttes, across five distinct sections reached from the lodge at Irwin, Idaho. Drift boats carry one or two anglers for a full day at $930, with lunch, ice, beverages and flies covered in that rate. Nymph fishing opens the year in early May, dry fly work takes over from late June into October, and autumn fishes well on both dries and streamers. Snake River cutthroat, rainbows, cuttbows and brown trout come to hand, and the guides report averages of fifteen to eighteen fish on a day. The main stem Snake is worked as a second program: drift boat days April through December from Gem State Dam at Idaho Falls to Firth, Firth to Rose, and downstream toward Massacre Rocks, then walk and wade trips near Pocatello from December through March, where a third angler can be added for $100. Cast n’ Blast days pair fishing with a gun fee.
