TroutHunter guides the Henry’s Fork from Island Park, Idaho, working more than fifty miles of varied water on the main river along with its tributaries, and the outfit is also licensed for Montana waters and Yellowstone National Park. A full day trip is float or wade fishing for one or two anglers and includes instruction, a streamside lunch and non-alcoholic beverages; guides carry rods and flies for anglers who need them. The rate is $795 through May and again from the first of August into the end of October, and $850 during June and July. Meeting times reflect the time of year, with trips starting between 8:00 and 8:30 in the morning from mid May through mid September and around 9:00 in the shoulder months. The shop recommends a five or six weight rod with a floating line for most of the fishing, with four through seven weights covering the range of conditions, and chest waders for wading. Shuttle costs between stretches are billed separately.
