Davidson River Outfitters, known locally as DRO, is a full-service fly shop and guide service at 49 Pisgah Highway, within an easy drive of Brevard, Hendersonville, Asheville, Cashiers, Lake Toxaway, Greenville and Charlotte. Alongside the guiding it carries a complete line of fly fishing gear and apparel and runs a substantial teaching calendar taking in Fly Fishing 101, one-day and two-day schools, rod building, Tenkara and single-hand spey casting clinics. It also books destination travel, sending clients to Montana, to Argentina for trout and golden dorado, and to the Bahamas. The store trades seven days a week, eight until half past five on weekdays and eight until five at weekends, and reservations are taken by telephone.
