Ed’s Fly Shop

Ed’s Fly Shop calls itself a full service fly shop and guide service in western Colorado, and the retail half of that is substantial – it stocks over ten thousand SKUs of gear and supplies at 432 East Main Street in Montrose. The business was born in 2010 and the current Main Street premises opened its doors in 2019. It is co-owned by Ed LeViness and Michelle Bangert; Brandon VanNooten manages the shop, Kato is head guide, and Jacob Ramirez, Cole Greer, Erica Nelson and John Melrose, who is based over in Buena Vista, make up the rest of the guiding staff, with Hannah Montes handling social media. The waters it guides are the Gunnison Gorge, the Lower Gunnison, the Uncompahgre and the San Miguel.
