Finn Provisions

Finn Provisions occupies 344 North Main Street, Suite 3, in downtown Spearfish, and functions as a fly shop and gallery as much as a booking desk. Pete Nielson, who goes by Pistol Pete, owns and runs it with more than 30 years of fly fishing and teaching behind him. The crew is described as a collaboration of artists, photographers, running coaches, bull riders and fish hippies rather than a conventional roster, and no guide count is published. Fly tying classes run on the first and third Thursday evenings of each month. The business states a conservation position of leaving places nicer than it found them, works on a fair chase and catch and release basis, and says anglers of any ability, age or gender are welcome.
