Hold the Line Outfitters
Niagara Falls, New York
This is a two-owner fly fishing guide service working out of 2532 Falls Street in Niagara Falls, New York, a short drive from Buffalo. Christopher Finitz, a New York State licensed guide, lives in Lewiston and serves as a captain in the Niagara Falls Fire Department; he has put years into learning fish behaviour and the tactics that produce in poor conditions. He guides with Phil Sirianni, another lifelong angler and licensed state guide, who came to the fly from a long background in conventional tackle and is known among clients for reading the weather and what it will do to the fishing. Casting and spey instruction is sold separately from guided days. The company places heavy emphasis on release practice, teaching correct handling, fish-friendly hooks and tippet strong enough to land quickly, and aligns itself publicly with the keep-them-wet approach.
