Mossy Creek Fly Fishing

The storefront is at 480 East Market Street in Harrisonburg and keeps seven day hours, ten to six on weekdays and ten to five on weekends, backed by an online store that ships orders nationally. Teaching runs as its own department, built around an Orvis Fly Fishing School, graded casting classes and a newer set of fly tying classes. The guided range is much wider than any one river: the limestone water of Mossy Creek and Beaver Creek, small mountain streams including Ramsey’s Draft, Skidmore Fork, Paine Run, Big Run and Madison Run, the North River, Back Creek and Spring Run, plus Elkhorn Lake and Switzer Reservoir, with access into George Washington National Forest and Shenandoah National Park. A mobile fly shop program takes the retail side out to breweries, clubs and nonprofit events.
