Unicoi Outfitters opened on the banks of the Chattahoochee in 1994 and operates as a full service fly shop with two north Georgia counters, one outside Helen and one in Clarkesville. Retail stock runs to rods, reels, lines, leaders, wading gear, accessories and clothing, along with fly tying materials and bins of pre tied patterns, carrying Orvis, Sage, G. Loomis, Redington and Echo among other brands. The business is an Orvis endorsed outfitter and was named Orvis Fly Shop of the Year in 2018. An online store carries much of the same inventory for customers who cannot reach either location, and the shop’s service pages handle booking, policies and its own history.
