Walleye Patrol Guide Service
Gillett, Wisconsin
Walleye Patrol is a one captain operation with no storefront, no rental fleet and no lodging attached. Danny Woodke keeps the calendar himself from an address in Gillett, in Oconto County, and shifts between fisheries as each one comes on. The bay of Green Bay is the largest piece of that ground, along with the rivers feeding it, the Oconto, the Fox, the Peshtigo and the Menominee. The Lake Winnebago chain and the Wolf system make up the rest, which puts most of the water within an hour or so of home. Parties are capped at four anglers. Dates are held with a deposit sent as a check made out to the captain rather than through an online cart, and a separate page on the site sets out what clients should bring and what the boat supplies. One phone number handles bookings and questions.
The Winnebago system is one of three connected northeast Wisconsin fisheries the business sells, alongside the bay of Green Bay and the Wolf River, which lets a booking be moved between them as conditions change.
