Great Basin Guide Service

Great Basin Guide Service works the Truckee River out of Reno and fishes both the Nevada and California sides of it. Head guide Bill Kitchen has more than fifteen years of fly fishing experience on the Truckee, and the service presents the river as a brown and rainbow trout fishery, describing trophy browns and football sized rainbows. Two formats are offered. Float trips go in a raft with a maximum of two anglers and are pitched at intermediate to advanced casters, priced at 500 dollars for one angler and 600 dollars for two on a six to seven hour day, or 400 and 475 dollars for a four hour half day. Walk and wade trips take up to three anglers and are open to every skill level, running 500, 600 and 800 dollars for a full day by party size and 375, 450 and 600 dollars for a half day. Waders, boots and rods are provided; lunch is not. Deposits are 100 dollars on full days and 75 dollars on half days. The company also runs saltwater trips in Baja.
