Hill Country Bass Coach
Austin, Texas · Fishes Lake Travis
Lake Travis is an 18,000-acre reservoir on the Colorado River known for deep, clear water, and guide Ray Tomasits has fished it since 1996. Structure on the lake is dominated by rock, boulders and ledges along with boat docks, and the lake carries populations of largemouth bass, Guadalupe bass, white bass and striped bass; Travis previously held the state record for Guadalupe bass until 2014. Tomasits pitches Travis as a numbers lake for clients wanting a lot of bites rather than only trophy fish. Trips are booked in half-day (4-hour, $400 for one angler), half-day-plus (6-hour, $450) and full-day (8-hour, $550) blocks, with $50 added per additional angler, and instruction covers pitching, flipping and topwater techniques on top of simply putting clients on fish. A $150 deposit secures a date, with a 30-day cancellation window for a full refund.
