South River Fly Shop

South River Fly Shop is a full-service fly shop with a retail storefront at 200 East Main Street in Waynesboro, Virginia, running a guide service alongside the counter trade. Its guided water is not limited to one river: the shop also books trips on the brook trout streams of Shenandoah National Park and on the South River that gives the business its name, so the calendar spans mountain freestone trout in the cool months and warmwater bass floats through the summer. Casting instruction is folded into a booked day rather than sold separately, and the staff guide anglers on either tackle type.

The shop’s guided water also takes in South Fork of the Shenandoah River float trips for smallmouth bass, from the Port Republic confluence downstream past Elkton and Shenandoah to Luray, sold at $375 for a half day with one or two anglers and $425 or $475 for a full day.
