Boats launch at Oriental onto what the company’s own notes call a diverse and extensive ecosystem where the Neuse River meets Pamlico Sound. Trips are fly fishing and light tackle. The long half day runs five hours at $600 for two anglers or $700 for three; the eight-hour full day is $800 for two or $900 for three. All necessary tackle, lures or flies come with the booking, along with a cooler of ice and bottled water. Redfish, speckled trout, flounder and black drum are the named quarry, and a separate Cedar Island run is scheduled for May and October.
