Woody’s fishes the Williamson River for the big native redband trout that run up out of Upper Klamath Lake, where a twenty-inch fish is the norm rather than the exception. Guide Dylan Woodrum swings leech imitations through the river’s many deep pools and dead-drifts nymphs through its riffles, working from a 16-foot Clackacraft drift boat. Summer is the part of the calendar the operation builds around on this water, and it is where Woody’s says it likes to spend the season. Fishing gear, beverages and snacks come with the day; anglers bring their own Oregon license and lunch.
