Getting Bit Guide Service
Grand Rapids, Michigan · Fishes Grand River
Getting Bit runs the Grand from a seventeen-foot flat-bottom river boat, on a steelhead fishery its owner argues is arguably the best in Michigan. Steelhead usually start arriving in decent numbers in October and fish well into April, which makes this a cold-weather river rather than a summer one. King and coho salmon show up early in September and run into late October, ahead of the steelhead. Brown trout, smallmouth bass and walleye fill out the rest of the year on the same water. Trips are run by Greg Knapp himself rather than by a roster of guides, and are booked directly with him.
