Ramblin’ Fly Fishing
Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico
Ramblin’ Fly Fishing is a year-round guide service based out of Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico, a small community on the south side of Taos, specialising in guided trips on the big river and on many other waters in the Taos area, which between a large wild river, remote mountain streams and several lakes is more than enough to keep an angler interested for a lifetime. The outfit holds permits through the BLM Taos Field Office and the Carson National Forest, is fully insured and is trained in CPR and first aid. Every day is built as a learning experience rather than simply an outing. Beginners are taken through the history of the sport, essential casting technique, an introduction to aquatic insect life and the skills to land and handle a first fish, with no prior experience assumed. More experienced anglers get instruction pitched at their own goals, from technical dry fly presentation to streamer strategies, euro nymphing or tightlining, and stillwater approaches.
