Following Seas Guide Service works the flats around Isle of Wight Bay and the Ocean City inlet, drifting live bait over structure where stripers, flounder and bluefish stack up. Three packages are sold by the boat rather than by the head, each taking up to four guests: a two-hour evening cruise starting at 5:30pm from May to October for cobia, striped bass and bluefish at $300; a three-hour bay trip leaving at 7:00am, 10:30am or 2:00pm from April to November at $425, which the crew calls its most booked outing; and a four-hour nearshore and back-bay combination leaving at 6:00am for cobia, black seabass, redfish and drum at $550. Rods and tackle, live bait caught before the trip, the Maryland fishing licence and catch cleaning are all included, and a booking can be cancelled free with three days’ notice. The season runs April to November, with striped bass productive throughout, cobia and bluefish peaking in summer and flounder best from May to September.
