Crazy Rainbow Fly Fishing
Casper, Wyoming · Fishes North Platte River
Crazy Rainbow guides the North Platte in Wyoming, a river it describes as a blue ribbon trout fishery, and concentrates on three reaches. The Grey Reef tailwater is the core of the work, and the company holds eight miles of private access there reached through eight private boat ramps. The Miracle Mile and Fremont Canyon are the other two stretches on the list. Rainbow, brown, and cutthroat trout are the fish, and the tailwater character at Grey Reef stretches the fishing well past the months freestone water stays in shape. Days run as floats or as wade outings depending on water and preference, either as single days or strung into multi day packages. Gourmet streamside lunches are part of the day, and the private access includes restroom facilities. From September into March the company pairs fly fishing with upland bird hunting on cast and blast days, and carp trips are offered for anglers after something different.
