Trout trips work the Little Red River tailwater below Greers Ferry Dam at Heber Springs, Arkansas, and are run either from a drift boat or on foot as a wade trip. Rainbow, brown and cutthroat trout are the fish. A half day is four hours at $350 and a full day is six to eight hours at $550. Rods, reels and tackle are all provided, along with flies the guide selects for conditions on the river that day. The water fishes year round, with spring and fall named as the busiest booking periods. Instruction is part of the day rather than an extra, covering casting, drift control and presentation, and the service takes people who have never fished as readily as anglers who want to sharpen technique.
