Baldwin, Michigan · Fishes Pere Marquette River
Trips run on the Pere Marquette from M-37 down toward Lake Michigan, and on the Manistee, Muskegon and White rivers in west Michigan, from a 16-foot Clacka Craft drift boat of McKenzie style and a 17-foot Power Drifter with a 65 horsepower jet. The year moves in stages: steelhead from March into May, brown and rainbow trout from mid-April through late June, smallmouth bass and pike from mid-May into mid-August, and salmon from mid-August into mid-October. Salmon and pike are also fished with spin gear from mid-August to early October, and plug fishing for steelhead runs from mid-October through late March. Both fly and hardware fishing are offered. A full day is eight to ten hours at $600 for one or two anglers and includes gear, tackle, transportation and a shore lunch; a half day is four to six hours at $375 with gear, tackle and transportation.
