Cobble Creek Outfitters
Pulaski, New York · Fishes Cayuga Lake, Salmon River
The Salmon River is fished from September until May out of drift boats working the water around Pulaski and Altmar, which the company calls the most famous Lake Ontario tributary. Kings and coho come through in September and October, and steelhead hold from October right through to May, with January and February singled out as particularly productive. A spin or fly drift boat day is $550 for two anglers and $700 for three, and all tackle is provided except waders. Wade fly fishing trips and spin trips run alongside the boat days, and the Lake Ontario tributaries either side of the river are worked on the same calendar. Cayuga Lake is the warm weather half of the year, fished in spring, summer and autumn, and Lake Ontario and Oneida Lake are covered in those same months.
