The Middle and South Forks of the Snoqualmie and the Cascade mountain creeks above them are walk and wade water, thirty minutes to an hour and a half out of Seattle, and they fish from June to October with late June through mid October the ideal window. Native westslope and coastal cutthroat and rainbow trout come to size 14 to 20 attractor and imitative patterns – caddis, stimulators, humpies, Adams, Royal Wulff, Royal Coachman and H and L variants – cast on rods no larger than a 3 weight and usually on 00 to 1 weights. A full day is $595 for one or two anglers with lunch, beverages, flies and all equipment; a half day is $495 with flies and equipment. Above average wading skills are sometimes required.
