Roaring River is small spring-creek water where wading conditions hold good almost every day of the year, and the shop treats it as the place to go when high water on the White River, the Norfork tailwater and Lake Taneycomo has everyone stuck on the bank. The lower river is spring fed and run as a Missouri trout park, so a daily tag is bought at the park and five rainbows may be kept. Three zones divide the water between unrestricted tackle, artificials and fly only, with a small catch-and-release stretch as well. Caddis and midges dominate the hatches and dry flies fish very well, with egg patterns, woolly buggers and nymphs all producing. The clear setting makes it a good place to learn to sight fish, and there is a quiet winter catch-and-release weekend season.
