Trips launch from Oak Ridge Marina on Lake Fork Reservoir near Quitman, Texas, running out of a 20-foot Phoenix bass boat. Captain Ryker Holmes offers half-day trips of five hours targeting largemouth bass or crappie in a morning or afternoon slot, and full-day trips of eight to nine hours that either stay on bass or combine bass and crappie in a single outing. Rods, reels and tackle are supplied and bait is included, and on crappie and combination trips the catch is cleaned, filleted and packaged before the boat returns to the dock. Anglers need to bring their own valid Texas fishing license along with food and drinks, as those are not furnished. Trips run year-round and are booked online, with a non-refundable deposit required to hold a date; the season’s bookings currently open in the first week of September.
