Lo Water Guide Service
Phoenix, Arizona · Fishes Salt River
Lo Water Guide Service is a Phoenix operation founded by Derek Rivchin in 2019 that fishes desert water most guide services skip, including the Salt River where it cuts through rugged country just outside the city. The Salt River appears on the rate sheet in two forms: a fly fishing day at 440 dollars, and a Float N Fish raft trip at 490 dollars on which the guide rows and positions the boat. The site is pointed about the equipment, saying the rafts are proper fishing platforms rather than the inflatable tubes recreational floaters use. Target fish listed for the river are carp in the five to fifteen pound range with larger ones possible, Sonoran suckers of twelve to eighteen inches, and largemouth and smallmouth bass. Rods matched to Salt River conditions and flies are supplied, and single guest trips are available for anglers who want undivided attention. The rest of the schedule ranges across Phoenix canals, Mogollon Rim trout water near Payson, and bass on Roosevelt, Apache and Canyon lakes.
