Tuckasegee Fly Shop
Sylva, North Carolina · Fishes Tuckasegee River
Tuckasegee Fly Shop takes its name from the river it guides most and keeps storefronts in Sylva, Bryson City and Waynesville. Float trips launch on the Tuckasegee in StealthCraft drift boats, with a typical full day lasting about eight hours and a shorter half day also on offer. Full day floats are $450 for one or two anglers and half days are $350, with group rates quoted by phone for parties needing more than one boat. The shop describes the Tuckasegee as holding trophy trout along with smallmouth bass, and the boat opens up runs and pools that are hard to reach on foot. Beyond the Tuckasegee the guides work Raven Fork near Cherokee, the Nantahala, the Little Tennessee and streams inside Great Smoky Mountains National Park, where the shop holds licensed concessionaire status. Both guided float and wade trips are on the books, and the retail side stocks gear and flies for anglers heading out on their own.
