Upper Canyon Outfitters
Alder, Montana · Fishes Ruby River
Guests here fish the Ruby River and its tributaries, a mix of uncrowded private ranch water and miles of the Beaverhead National Forest in the upper drainage above Alder, walked and waded for trout that run roughly eight to twenty inches. The season runs from the middle of May through September. Fishing is sold inside a four day, five night package: Sunday check in, four guided trips from Monday to Thursday with two of them on private property, and a free upgrade from a walk and wade day to a float. Full day floats on the Madison and Jefferson, both about an hour from the ranch, and a walk and wade day on Poindexter Slough on the Beaverhead round out the week.
