West Branch Angler Resort

West Branch Angler guides the Upper Delaware system out of Hancock, New York, where the West Branch, the East Branch and the main stem come together to make more than seventy miles of trout habitat. Guides fish by boat or on foot depending on water levels and where the fish are on a given day, and trips are available from the first of April through the end of October. A full day is $550 for one or two anglers and a half day $425. Wild brown and rainbow trout are the main quarry; through the warmer summer months smallmouth bass trips are also run, and those allow spin fishing where trout trips are handled as fly fishing and catch and release. The guide staff is hand selected and Orvis endorsed, trained and certified as casting instructors by the Orvis Company, so instruction is built into a day on the water. Many of the guides have been with the resort more than ten years and some more than twenty, which means a long working memory of how these three rivers fish.
