Mahoosuc Guide Service
Newry, Maine
Mahoosuc Guide Service is a Maine Wilderness Guides Quality Endorsed operation based at 15 Mahoosuc Way in Newry, with more than forty years of guiding behind it in Maine, Quebec, the Yukon and Alaska. It is owned and run by Polly and Kevin, who guide the trips themselves and keep a minimum of two guides on every departure, and it has been given the Maine Office of Tourism’s Excellence in Nature Based Tourism award. Beyond angling it runs wilderness canoe trips on the Allagash, the St. John and the East and West branches of the Penobscot, winter dog-sled trips, Indigenous cultural trips in Maine and Quebec, and guide-training and wilderness first-aid courses; its other fishing departure targets land-locked salmon on the West Branch of the Penobscot.
