Maine Fly Guide
New Gloucester, Maine
This is a one man operation. Bichrest takes the bookings, rows and runs the boat himself, and does not field a roster of other guides. Days launch at eight in the morning and a $100 deposit holds the date, with the balance settled on the water. The craft is a 2025 Stealthcraft Power Drifter set up as a jet drive river boat, which lets him work thin water that a propeller cannot cross. Beyond his home drainage he books the Rangeley Lakes region from the middle of April into the middle of June for brook trout and landlocked salmon, priced at $600 for one or two rods with a meal and rods provided. Anglers can choose fly tackle or conventional spinning gear on most trips, and the site carries written reports on the rivers he covers.
