Sportsman’s Paradise Adventures is a family-run charter operation based at 106 Parkers Lane in Aydlett, North Carolina, a Currituck County village on the mainland shore of the sound. It is run by Captain Josh Garrett and Captain Paul, a father and son team who both hold 100-ton Master licences and who between them claim over forty years of combined experience fishing Outer Banks waters. The fleet is two 24-foot boats: the F/V Carolina Skimmer, powered by a 150 Suzuki outboard, and the F/V Carolina Skiff, powered by a 175 Suzuki. Fishing is only part of the business, which also sells waterfowl hunting on Currituck Sound, crabbing adventures and wildlife and wild-horse boat tours for families who want the water without the rods. The waters worked run well beyond the home sound and take in Albemarle Sound, Corolla, Oregon Inlet, Wanchese, Manteo, Roanoke Sound and Pamlico Sound.
