The business was started in 1993 by Ralph Chatelain, its founder and owner, who has now spent more than forty years guiding anglers. It is a guide service built around its own custom boats rather than a fly shop or a lodge, and it draws clients from a wide area, listing Bull Shoals, Mountain Home and Fayetteville in Arkansas and Branson in Missouri as the places it serves. Beyond single day outings it arranges split day trips and overnight excursions, renting cabins along the river and handling meal preparation for those stays. The tone of the operation is stated plainly on the site: guides do not smoke or curse, and are expected to be respectful and helpful with families and beginners. Reservations are taken by phone, and larger groups can be accommodated on request.
