Green Mountain Adventures
Middlebury, Vermont · Fishes Otter Creek, White River (Vermont)
Green Mountain Adventures is the guide arm of the Middlebury Mountaineer and has been running trips out of Middlebury since 1998. The service covers Otter Creek, the New Haven and Middlebury rivers, the White River, headwater streams in the Green Mountain National Forest and Lake Champlain, so a booking can be built around trout, landlocked salmon, steelhead, smallmouth bass or northern pike. Walk and wade days run four or eight hours at $300 and $400 for the first angler with $100 for a second. Trout float trips run eight to nine hours at $500 for the first angler and are capped at two rods. Pike and bass floats last five to six hours and start at $400. Floats use rafts or hardboats depending on the water being run. Trips are shaped around ability, from a first casting lesson through to anglers who want to press into harder water, and the shop’s guides draw on long familiarity with the Champlain Valley drainages.
