Chuck Ragan Fly Fishing

Chuck Ragan Fly Fishing is a guide operation based in Grass Valley, California, working the Lower Yuba River along with the Feather and Sacramento rivers and nearby foothill lakes. On the Yuba the emphasis is the river’s wild resident rainbow trout and the migratory Central Valley steelhead that push up from the valley, fished from a drift boat that carries one or two anglers plus the guide. Trips run eight hours for a full day or four hours for a half day, and the rate covers rods, reels, flies and terminal tackle, with snacks, drinking water and a shore lunch on full days. A separate jet boat program runs full days only on the Sacramento, Feather and Yuba rivers for shad and striper, and warmwater days for smallmouth, largemouth and spotted bass are offered on the foothill lakes. Chuck Ragan holds a USCG licensed Inland OUPV captain’s rating and guides the Sacramento Valley rivers, the Sierra Nevada foothill reservoirs and the California Delta.
