Tailing Tide Guide Service
Swansboro, North Carolina · Fishes Roanoke River
The Roanoke runs 410 miles from southwestern Virginia to Albemarle Sound, and this service fishes the reach between Plymouth and Roanoke Rapids, concentrating near Weldon. A poling skiff takes one or two anglers. There are two runs: shad from February into April, and striped bass in April and May. Shad trips are $550 for a five-hour long half day and $750 for an eight-hour full day; stripers are $600 for the long half day, $750 for a regular full day and $900 for a ten-hour long day. A third angler adds $50 and live-bait fishing carries an extra charge.
