Great Sacandaga Dave
Mayfield, New York · Fishes Great Sacandaga Lake
Great Sacandaga Dave runs fishing charters on the Great Sacandaga Lake in the Adirondack Mountains, a reservoir the charter says is home to a large number of fish and where customers catch northern pike, walleye, perch, brown trout and rainbow trout, with a white perch, a bullhead or a catfish as the occasional surprise. Trips leave from Lanzi’s on the Lake, a family-owned Italian restaurant on the shore that doubles as the meeting point and a place to eat before or after the water. Poles are provided, so anglers do not need to bring their own, and life jackets are carried in every size. Dave picks water by the time of day and the time of year and will work a particular species on request. Anglers keep everything they catch or put it back as they prefer, and if a storm is bad enough to stop a trip the charter is refunded in full and rescheduled for a better day.
