Henry’s Fork Anglers
Island Park, Idaho · Fishes Henrys Fork, Henrys Lake, Teton River
Guided days are sold as full day float trips out of Last Chance, on the Henry’s Fork of the Snake River in the Island Park country, and the same booking covers float water across east Idaho, Montana and the Yellowstone region, including the Teton, the South Fork of the Snake and Henry’s Lake. Rates are $825 a day for one or two anglers from November 1 through April 30 and $875 from May 1 through October 31. Meals, non alcoholic beverages and transportation to and from the water are included, and the regular season rate adds flies and terminal tackle such as leaders, tippet, indicators and weight. Licenses, gratuity and private water fees are separate. A distinct offering is the Teton Canyon River Slide, run May 1 through October 31 at $995, a whitewater and fishing day through a deep gorge below the Bitch Creek confluence in heavy duty Aire Super Puma rafts, with cutthroat the fish of interest.
The Teton River is the one river singled out on the shop’s guide service page. The trip is the reach below the confluence with Bitch Creek, running through a deep gorge, taken in heavy duty rafts at nine hundred and ninety-five dollars for one or two anglers, from the first of May to the thirty-first of October, for the cutthroat trout the outfitter calls one of the finest such fisheries in the country. Getting to the water is on foot down a steep rocky trail of roughly fifteen hundred feet at a fifty per cent grade, walking sticks are required, and the page says plainly that it is not for the faint of heart.
