Guided days run on the San Juan River at Navajo Dam, New Mexico, sold as float trips and as wade trips, with lake trips on Navajo Reservoir offered as a change of pace. The guides work from reading water, from knowledge of the aquatic and terrestrial insects on this river, and from tying their own patterns, using that to put anglers on productive water and match what the trout are eating. Blue Sky supplies free flies, all rigging materials and any necessary equipment an angler has not brought along, and full day guided trips add a streamside lunch and drinks. Waders are not provided, and New Mexico licenses and guide gratuity are handled separately. Booking is done online through a scheduling calendar or by phone. The outfitter states it aims at the most affordable rates it can hold without cutting the items included in a day.
