Jason’s Guide Service

Jason’s Guide Service fishes the Kenai River from Mile Marker 48 in Cooper Landing, Alaska, concentrating on eighteen river miles of drift-only water on the upper Kenai where motors are not used, and working the middle river down toward Soldotna as well. Custom-built drift boats carry the trips. Salmon arrive in June and the runs continue through the end of October, bringing sockeye, silver and pink salmon, while rainbow trout, Dolly Varden char and steelhead round out what comes to the net across the season. Gear is supplied for every guest: G-Loomis rods, Lamson and Shimano reels, and Gore-Tex breathable waders. Kenai Lake and Skilak Lake sit at either end of the drift water and are fished as well, and ice fishing is run in winter when the season allows.
