Fishing with Ferris

Trips on the McKenzie River are run from a 2025 ClackaCraft Clackamax, an 18 foot fiberglass drift boat that takes up to three anglers, out of the Eugene, Oregon area. The river is worked for trout year round and for spring Chinook salmon and steelhead in their seasons, and fly fishing is offered alongside conventional tackle. Half days run roughly four to five hours at $400 for one or two anglers and include drinks, snacks, gear and tackle, coaching on technique and Coast Guard required safety equipment. Full days are $550 for one or two anglers and add a shore lunch to the same list. Groups larger than one boat are handled by putting multiple boats on the water, quoted individually. The guide holds an Oregon guide license and a Coast Guard captain’s credential.
