Lees Ferry Anglers
Marble Canyon, Arizona · Fishes Colorado River (Lees Ferry)
Lees Ferry Anglers sits at MP 547 on US-89A at Marble Canyon and describes itself as Arizona’s largest fly fishing outfitter and the oldest fly shop at the crown of the Grand Canyon. Its water is the 15.5 mile tailwater running from the outflow of Lake Powell at Glen Canyon Dam to the upper end of the Grand Canyon, which the shop calls the world’s largest spring creek and credits with thousands of wild rainbow trout per mile. Guides run custom built 16 foot heavy duty aluminum jet boats made for conditions at Lees Ferry, carrying two anglers maximum, and days typically last eight to nine hours. Fly trips and spin trips are both priced at 600 dollars for one angler and 700 dollars for two, with anglers either wading or casting from the boat. Guides cover safety, knots and rigging, equipment, casting, entomology and reading the drift. The shop also rents its custom aluminum boats to experienced boaters at 275 dollars a day.
