Park City On The Fly
Park City, Utah · Fishes Duchesne River, Strawberry River
Guided days run on the Duchesne River and the Strawberry River, two eastern Utah trout streams a couple of hours out from Park City. The Duchesne rises in the Uinta Mountains and runs 115 miles, with Blue Ribbon stretches that produce brown, cutthroat and rainbow trout; much of the river is private, so the day is spent working the public access points the guides keep track of. The Strawberry is eighteen miles of tighter, more demanding water framed by pines, aspens and cottonwoods, holding rainbows and heavy browns, and is offered as the trip for anglers with some experience behind them. Neither river is floated; both are walked and waded, and both are described as a full-day commitment. Waders, boots, rods and flies tied by the guides come with the day, and full-day trips include a riverside lunch.
