The water fished is the lower Saluda at Columbia, the tailrace below the dam, together with the Congaree downstream of the confluence. Rainbow and brown trout hold in the cold discharge and are catchable through most of the year, which is unusual this far south. Striped bass run the Saluda from late May into early September and show on the Congaree in early spring, and smallmouth bass are available the year round. Full and half day trips are both sold. Fly tackle is the default and conventional gear is offered as an alternative, with live bait used on the striper days, and the trip is built around teaching casting, technique and tactics rather than simply putting a client over fish.
