Turpin Meadow Ranch
Moran, Wyoming · Fishes Pacific Creek
Pacific Creek joined this programme when the ranch widened its fly fishing beyond the Buffalo Fork River, and it is fished alongside Spread Creek and Blackrock Creek as one of a handful of small waters the guides choose between day by day, depending on conditions. Access is on foot: trips are walk-and-wade, or ride in on horseback to reach water further from the road, and no boat is used. The season runs from June 11th to September 28th. Across the programme the fish are native cutthroat trout together with brown trout, rainbow trout, mountain whitefish and grayling, though the ranch does not break that list down creek by creek. A half day runs 9am to 1pm or 2pm to 6pm at $595 for up to three anglers; a full day runs 9am to 6pm at $975 for up to three. Orvis rods and reels, waders, snacks and drinks come with the trip, and a packed lunch is added on full days. A Wyoming fishing licence is not included and anglers arrange their own.
