Akers Ferry Canoe Rental
Salem, Missouri · Fishes Current River, Jacks Fork
Akers Ferry sits on the upper Current River at the Akers landing, the put-in most floaters use for the spring-fed water above Pulltite and Round Spring. Trips go out by canoe, kayak, raft and tube, as single-day floats or multi-day runs camping out on the riverbank, all shuttled from the ferry crossing. The same shop equips floats on the Jacks Fork. The upper Current holds stocked rainbow trout in the cold water below Montauk, with smallmouth and rock bass through the gravel runs further down. Summer hours are 7am to 7pm; winter floats between November 1 and February 28 are by reservation only.
