Riverside Fly Shop

Riverside Fly Shop guides the Sipsey Fork tailwater running directly behind its building below Lewis Smith Dam. Guided trips are sold four ways: half day wading at 250 dollars for one angler or 325 for two, half day drift boat at 300 or 375, full day wading at 500 or 575, and full day drift boat at 600 or 675. Waders, boots, rods and flies can be included at no additional charge, and trips are put together around what an angler wants to fish for rather than a fixed itinerary. The listed targets are trout, striped bass, largemouth and spotted bass, and panfish. Because generation from Smith Dam controls how the tailwater fishes, the tentative release schedule is posted on the shop’s own home page, which lets anglers read flows before committing to a date. Wading and drift boat days are priced separately because the two cover very different amounts of river.
